    90 Minutos em Yap Caverns

    Posted by gm@mantaray.com on January 7, 2014

    Manta Mating – Dive Photos

    Posted by gm@mantaray.com on January 7, 2014
These days the manta diving is exciting. The daily hour at Stammtisch is as good as it gets during this season and lately we've had some ripping times with these guys. Typically these things just glide right over you, behind you and in front of you while getting cleaned. This dive had both, there was...

    Yap Mantas in B/W

    Posted by gm@mantaray.com on December 11, 2013
The manta action is getting stronger with the mating behavior. During this season a typical cleaning station experience is multiple animals with a one-track mind. This means that they care less about divers and more about impressing their would-be partner. Big females glide out of the vis, closely followed by multiple male rays and keep...

    90 minutes at the Caverns

    Posted by gm@mantaray.com on December 5, 2013
The day you take your macro system to the reef is certainly the day that a big animal show is going to go down 15 feet away from you. Yesterday was no different for me. I jumped on a boat headed south to the Caverns site and adjacent walls. There's all kinds of stuff going...

Julie Hartup is back on island for Thanksgiving week, more manta research and data collecting as well as some general yapping around. If you just let us know…

    Posted by gm@mantaray.com on November 26, 2013
We're always more than happy to do something special for our friends.  This time it was Daniel and his wife Marion celebrating her 50th birthday on their recent Yap dive trip. They wanted to have a toast with everybody at the hotel and hosted a social call in the Nautical Weaver Bar. Detlef prepared a...

    Yap Status Report

    Posted by gm@mantaray.com on November 20, 2013
The whole island has been buzzing with divers - there were about 7 boats running when this week kicked off. For Yap, that's a crowd. The good thing is that those 7 boat groups get to share over 100 miles of barrier reef. Things are running day and night and some Aussies are taking 4...
