José Truda Palazzo, Jr.
I am a PADI Advanced Open Water, Adventure & NITROX Diver from Brazil. During my 40 years as a marine conservation activist and writer, I´ve had the opportunity to dive at many fabulous sites around the world, but no place has impressed and enchanted me as Yap – so much so that I got married there in 2013, and I and my family keep going back whenever we can. Detlef Trux
Detlef Trux, originally from Saxonia, Germany, ignited his passion for Yap’s underwater world through two transformative dive trips in 2001. Relocating permanently in 2002, he embraced the local culture, marrying and raising two children within the community. With over two decades of dedicated service at the Manta Ray Bay Resort, Detlef enriched the experiences of countless visitors before retiring in 2023. Today, he remains rooted in Yap, drawn to its enduring beauty and tranquil waters year-round.
