Countdown to the Awards
Ladies and gentlemen, the time has (almost) come: it’s only a matter of hours before master-of-ceremonies Bill Acker will launch the awards on Mnuw.
9 AM saw the deadline for our contest participants’ entries.
Quite some guests, just like Markus and Julia (pictured below) spent part of last night looking into and working on their selection of pictures.
After submitting the images, what do you guess was next? Right, diving, or rather saying goodbye to the reefs of Yap. Or maybe rather “until next time” given the smiling faces that were all over the place in the past 2 weeks.
After dipping into Goofnuw Channel, Bill decided to supply our guides with some tuna heads from Manta Ray Bay’s freezer room.
Note: always keep your models happy – even if they wear a grey suit and show a rather pointed smile!
Following one to two weeks of nitrogen saturation, many guests decided to keep it slow though. Be it relaxing by the pool, enjoing a massage or other wellness treatments in our Taro Leaf Spa – everybody got their individual share of time off. However, there were restless souls wo still embarked on a little land expedition to nearby canoe house and the newly constructed Yap Living History Museum.
As for now it’s the jury’s turn, and I bet heads are smoking in the conference room. Air conditioning never was that precious!
We’ll keep you in the loop!
P.S.: Thanks to Andy Schumacher for providing those photos!
